Riftbound release date guide: Every set so far and what comes next

The next Riftbound release date is October 23, 2026, when Riftbound: Radiance launches in English, Simplified Chinese, and French. Radiance Pre-Rift runs from October 16-22, 2026. After that, Riftbound: Legacy releases January 29, 2027, followed by Riftbound: The Reckoning on April 30, 2027.

Riftbound first released in China on August 1, 2025, before its English launch on October 31, 2025 with Riftbound: Origins. The first three main sets reached China before English-speaking regions, but the schedules synchronized with Vendetta on July 31, 2026.

Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, and Vendetta are currently available in English. Vendetta is the newest released main set, Radiance is next, and Riot has outlined the main Riftbound release schedule through the end of 2027. Riftbound has also continued expanding into new languages, with Korean Origins launching September 18, 2026 and French reaching global set parity with Radiance.

Riftbound release schedule at a glance

If you only want the dates, the table below covers the confirmed main Riftbound release schedule. Regional and language launches are explained in more detail later in this guide.

The short version is simple: Vendetta is available now, Radiance releases October 23, 2026, Legacy follows January 29, 2027, and The Reckoning arrives April 30, 2027. Sets 8 and 9 are confirmed for later in 2027, but Riot has not announced exact dates for either set.

Riftbound: Radiance release date - October 23, 2026

Riftbound: Radiance releases October 23, 2026 in English, Simplified Chinese, and French. Radiance is Riftbound Set 5 and the final main booster expansion of 2026. Its Pre-Rift window runs from October 16-22.

Radiance preview season officially began on September 25, 2026 during the developer panel at the Riftbound Regional Qualifier Los Angeles. Riot's official preview window runs through October 9.

Radiance is themed around performance, creativity, and delivering when the spotlight is brightest. That theme extends from music-inspired artwork to mechanics that reward revealing information, planning around battlefields, and finding unconventional lines of play.

Riot initially announced five Legends for the set: Seraphine, Ziggs, Jarvan IV, Ekko, and Evelynn. The opening preview wave expanded that confirmed group with K'Sante and Orianna, meaning seven of Radiance's nine new Legends were officially named as preview season began. The remaining Legends are being revealed through the wider preview campaign.

Radiance introduces Deploy, Show Off and Disarm

Radiance adds three headline mechanics: Deploy, Show Off, and Disarm.

• Deploy: Deploy Gear is played directly to a Battlefield, where it provides an effect until an opponent holds that Battlefield. At that point, the Gear is killed.
• Show Off: Certain cards let you reveal a qualifying card from your hand or board to unlock an additional effect. It gives the opponent information in exchange for extra value.
• Disarm: Disarm reduces the Might of an enemy Unit at the same Battlefield when the attacking Unit attacks. Multiple instances can stack for a larger reduction.

Radiance also expands how existing card types can behave. Orianna, Lady of Clockwork can turn Gear into Units. If an Equipment becomes a Unit this way, Riot's rules explanation says it is automatically unequipped.

Bomb tokens are another major addition. They can be placed onto Battlefields and are designed to reward building up multiple Bombs before setting off increasingly disruptive sequences. Ziggs is one of the champions built around that play pattern.

The set also introduces Neeko as Riftbound's first neutral-domain Champion Unit. Because she is neutral rather than tied to one of the six normal domains, she represents a notable new direction for deckbuilding.

Radiance products

Radiance has a broader product lineup than the original August reveal suggested. Confirmed products include:

• Booster packs and Booster Displays: Radiance boosters contain 14 playable card slots plus an informational insert, with cards drawn from the 180-card release.
• Seraphine vs. Evelynn Showdown Decks: two ready-to-play 56-card decks, two paper playmats, two Radiance boosters, and a rulebook.
• The Vault: a reusable storage box with six Radiance boosters, foil tokens, and 36 basic Runes.
• Pre-Rift Kits: built around five Radiance boosters plus a seeded Pre-Rift pack associated with one of the set's nine new Legends.
• Collector's Binder: a new storage and display product added to the Radiance product range.

The Riot Merch Store also uses a drawing system for selected Radiance products. That purchase window should not be confused with the actual Riftbound Radiance release date: the full set still launches on October 23.

Radiance promos and Organized Play

Players attending a participating Radiance Pre-Rift can receive Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor as the Pre-Rift promo while supplies last. Riot is also refreshing Nexus Night promo packs for the Radiance era.

The first Radiance Summoner Skirmish window begins November 9, 2026, followed by another beginning December 14. Radiance is also part of the Standard card pool for the major Regional Championship events that follow its release.

Radiance has Riftbound's second Ultimate Rare

Radiance contains Riftbound's second Ultimate Rare, following the Baron Nashor Ultimate Rare introduced in Unleashed. Riot has deliberately made the Radiance card substantially harder to find.

Across the full Radiance print run, Riot lists an average Ultimate Rare appearance rate of approximately 0.025% of booster packs – roughly one per 4,000 packs on average. A pack can contain at most one Ultimate Rare, and there is no guaranteed Ultimate Rare in any individual pack, display, or case.

Radiance also includes Overnumbered versions of all nine new Legends, possible artist-signature variants, HEARTSTEEL Overnumbers, Special Alt Art cards, and music-inspired alternate-art Runes.

Upcoming Riftbound releases after Radiance

Riot has confirmed four main booster sets for 2027. Legacy and The Reckoning have exact release dates, while Sets 8 and 9 currently have quarterly release windows. Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition also arrives between the first two sets.

Riftbound: Legacy release date – January 29, 2027

Riftbound: Legacy releases January 29, 2027. It is Set 6, with Pre-Rift running from January 22-28.

Legacy is substantially larger than Radiance, with 346 cards, including 93 Showcase cards. Its set code is LGC.

The set focuses on the identities of League regions including Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, Piltover/Zaun, Freljord, and Bilgewater.

Eight of Legacy's twelve new Legends were named in Riot's initial announcement: Ashe, Garen, Heimerdinger, Illaoi, Karma, Lux, Tryndamere, and Vladimir.

Legacy's product lineup includes booster packs and displays, a Vault Bundle, Pre-Rift kits, and four Champion Decks built around Tryndamere, Ashe, Lux, and Garen. Riot says those four decks are also designed to work particularly well together for 2v2 play.

Legacy changes Riftbound booster packs

Starting with Legacy, one Common slot in a booster is replaced by a dedicated Legend or Battlefield slot, with each appearing at roughly a 50/50 frequency. That leaves six Common cards instead of seven in Legacy and later sets.

Showcase Legends and Battlefields remain part of the premium Overnumber slots rather than using the new dedicated slot.

Legacy is designed around Draft

Legacy is also the first Riftbound set Riot describes as being built for Draft from the beginning. Its Limited environment uses lower-rarity signpost cards and mechanics intended to make draft strategies easier to identify.

Rune Kits are being expanded with a new Minion unit that drafters can use when they need help completing a legal deck.

Set 6 also introduces clearer targeting indicators, new visual formatting for triggered abilities, revised rules wording, and card art inspired by League Classic. Riot plans its first Legacy preview beat around Convergence Fest, followed by further previews before release.

Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition – February 19, 2027

Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition releases February 19, 2027. It is an updated beginner product rather than Set 7.

The box contains four Champion decks featuring Heimerdinger, Karma, Vladimir, and Illaoi, four oversized Battlefields, four paper playmats, four Chibi score trackers, and a rulebook.

The product code is PG2, Riot lists a price of $40, and versions are planned in English, Simplified Chinese, French, and Korean.

Riot has also confirmed that Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition will not contain mechanically unique gameplay cards that cannot be obtained from booster products.

Riftbound: The Reckoning release date – April 30, 2027

Riftbound: The Reckoning releases April 30, 2027. It is Set 7, with Pre-Rift scheduled for April 23-29.

The Reckoning contains 264 cards, including 67 Showcase cards, and uses the set code REC. Riot's theme for the expansion revolves around dormant behemoths awakening and some of League's biggest champions entering Riftbound.

Five of its nine new Legends were included in the initial announcement: Aurelion Sol, Cho'Gath, Shyvana, Vayne, and Zilean.

The currently announced products are booster packs and displays, Champion Decks for Shyvana and Vayne, a Vault Bundle, and Pre-Rift kits.

Riftbound Set 8 release window – Q3 2027

Riftbound Set 8 is scheduled for Q3 2027. Riot has not announced its final title or exact release date.

The setting is confirmed: Set 8 takes Riftbound to Bandle City, with Riot describing an expansion built around the region's whimsical, magical, and mischievous identity.

Early concept artwork has been shown, but Riot explicitly warns that the concept pieces are exploratory and may not appear on finished cards. The card count, product lineup, Pre-Rift dates, and Legend roster remain unannounced.

Riftbound Set 9 release window – Q4 2027

Riftbound Set 9 is scheduled for Q4 2027 and is currently the final main booster set on Riot's announced 2027 roadmap.

Its exact date, title, card count, Legends, mechanics, and products have not been announced. Riot's first teaser deliberately plays with the words "Shadow" and "Isle," but Shadow Isles has not been formally confirmed as the final theme.

Past Riftbound set releases

Four main Riftbound sets have already released in English. These are the confirmed release dates and the main changes each expansion brought to the game.

Vendetta – July 31, 2026

Riftbound: Vendetta released July 31, 2026 in English and Simplified Chinese. It was the fourth main set and the first time those two Riftbound release schedules reached the same launch date.

Vendetta focuses on League rivalries and introduced Flow, Burn, and Empower. Flow allows eligible spells to be played from the trash, Burn moves cards from a Main Deck into the trash, and Empower lets cards unlock additional abilities after being upgraded.

The set also introduced Unit-Gear cards, Decrees built around opposing Domain colors, and new Tentacle, Shadow Clone, and Empowered tokens.

Vendetta also introduced Showdown Decks, beginning with ready-to-play Shen and Zed decks packaged together for two players.

Unleashed – May 8, 2026

Riftbound: Unleashed released in China on April 10, 2026 and in English on May 8, 2026. Chinese Pre-Rift began April 3, while English Pre-Rift ran from May 1-7.

Unleashed introduced XP alongside mechanics including Hunt and Ambush. It also debuted The Vault as a reusable storage-focused sealed product.

The expansion contained Riftbound's first Ultimate Rare, an overnumbered Baron Nashor. Riot listed its appearance rate below 0.1% of booster packs and made clear that the rarity would not necessarily appear in every future set.

Spiritforged – February 13, 2026

Riftbound: Spiritforged released in China on December 12, 2025 and in English on February 13, 2026. English Pre-Rift events ran from February 6-12.

Spiritforged was Riftbound's first full expansion after Origins. It introduced Equipment and mechanics including Quick-Draw, Weaponmaster, and Repeat, while Champion Decks for Fiora and Rumble provided two new preconstructed options.

Origins – October 31, 2025 in English

Riftbound: Origins was the game's first main set. It launched in China on August 1, 2025, followed by the English release on October 31, 2025.

The English rollout covered North America, EMEA, LATAM, and Oceania. Origins established Riftbound's original retail lineup with Proving Grounds, Champion Decks for Jinx, Viktor, and Lee Sin, booster packs, and booster displays.

Riftbound release dates by region and language

Riftbound did not begin with one universal worldwide release calendar. Origins, Spiritforged, and Unleashed all reached Simplified Chinese players before their English versions. Riot deliberately staggered those releases so the two schedules could eventually converge.

That happened with Vendetta. From Set 4 onward, English and Simplified Chinese main-set releases are synchronized. French reaches that same schedule with Radiance, while Korean and Traditional Chinese have their own accelerated localization plans.

This is why older results for a "Riftbound release date" can appear contradictory: a date may refer to a different language, market, Pre-Rift event, or retail launch.

French Riftbound release dates

French Riftbound used an accelerated schedule to catch up with English and Simplified Chinese. French Origins launched May 29, 2026, followed by Spiritforged and Unleashed on July 24, 2026.

Riot's original French roadmap listed July 31 for Spiritforged and Unleashed, but the later 2026 roadmap moved that release to July 24.

On October 23, French Vendetta and Radiance release together. From that point, French joins the synchronized main-set schedule used for English and Simplified Chinese.

Korean Riftbound launched September 18, 2026

Riftbound: Origins launched in Korean on September 18, 2026. The release replaced Riot's earlier September window with a firm date and marked the start of a separate accelerated Korean rollout.

The Korean Origins launch includes standard booster packs, five-card Origins booster packs, Champion Decks for Jinx, Lee Sin, and Viktor, and Proving Grounds. Riot also created Korea-specific launch collectibles, including a launch-stamped Jinx promo, a Yasuo promo at selected events, and a new Overnumber version of Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox in Korean Origins boosters.

How Korean Standard works

Because Korean Riftbound is beginning with Origins while the global game is already several sets ahead, Riot introduced Korean Standard as a temporary regional Constructed format.

• Korean Standard is the default format for events in South Korea while the localized release schedule catches up.
• The legal card pool is based on sets that have actually released in Korean.
• At the September 18 launch, Korean Standard began with Origins only.
• Spiritforged is scheduled to launch in Korean in December 2026, expanding the format to Origins plus Spiritforged.
• Riot plans seven Korean set launches during 2027, from Unleashed through Set 9.
• The goal is to reach global release parity with Set 10 at the beginning of 2028.
• The global Riftbound banned list still applies to Korean Standard.
• Stores and players may choose to use global Standard instead of Korean Standard if they prefer.

This means September 18, 2026 is both the Korean Riftbound release date and the starting point for Korea's own temporary Standard environment.

Traditional Chinese Riftbound and Southeast Asia

Traditional Chinese Riftbound is being published in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan through Riot's partnership with GLORIOUS SOUL (HK) LIMITED. English products continue to be available alongside localized cards in those markets.

The Traditional Chinese edition of Origins launched in August 2026. Riot has said it intends to pause additional language announcements in the short term while the Korean and Traditional Chinese versions become established.

English Riftbound distribution has also expanded into Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Origins and Spiritforged were the first products made available through that expansion, with Unleashed following from late May 2026.

Pre-Rift vs. the full Riftbound release date

Pre-Rift is Riftbound's prerelease event period; the release date is the normal retail launch. The two dates are connected, but they are not interchangeable.

At a Pre-Rift, participating local game stores can let players open the upcoming set, build Sealed decks, and play with the cards before full retail release. That is why new cards may appear in games and on social media several days before the official launch date.

Vendetta is a useful example: its Pre-Rift period began July 24, while the full English and Simplified Chinese release was July 31. Radiance follows the same pattern with Pre-Rift from October 16-22 and the full release on October 23.

The structure continues into 2027. Legacy Pre-Rift runs January 22-28 before the January 29 launch, while The Reckoning has Pre-Rift from April 23-29 before its April 30 release.

Other Riftbound product release dates

Not every new Riftbound product is a new numbered booster set. Riot also releases beginner products, bundles, promotional products, and collector-focused releases.

That distinction matters when following the Riftbound release schedule. A Merch Store drawing, collector bundle, promo release, or product restock does not change the release date of the corresponding main set.

Gift of the Rift Bundle – December 4, 2026

Gift of the Rift releases December 4, 2026 through local game stores and mass retailers. It celebrates Riftbound's first year rather than acting as Set 6.

The English bundle contains 16 booster packs: three each from Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, and Vendetta, plus four Radiance packs. It also includes 36 foil basic Runes, an alternate-art Akali promo, 100 matching sleeves, and a storage box designed for roughly 2,000 cards.

A Simplified Chinese version is also planned with an exclusive Kennen promo in place of the English Akali promo.

Secret Garden

Secret Garden is an event-focused Unleashed collector product rather than a normal retail booster set. It contains alternate-art versions of Lillia, Bashful Bloom; Ivern, Green Father; and Ultrasoft Poro, plus alternate-art tokens, sleeves, postcards, and three Unleashed boosters.

Instead of having one universal retail date, Secret Garden has been offered at selected events such as Gen Con, Regional Qualifiers, and PAX events.

Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Champion Collection

The Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Champion Collection is another collector line rather than a numbered set. It includes a premium Signature Edition and a Player Bundle commemorating T1's 2025 League of Legends World Championship title.

The English Signature Edition drawing ran August 14-17, 2026. The collection contains Riftbound's first serialized cards.

The separate T1 Worlds Champion Player Bundle is planned for an English Riot Merch Store drawing in October 2026, with a Korean version also planned as part of Riftbound's Korean rollout.

One included card is Seraphine, Not Alone from Radiance. Having a promotional or collector printing available before a booster set launches does not make that set legal early; the normal Radiance release and legality schedule still applies.

How the Riftbound release cycle works

How many Riftbound sets release each year?

Riot's current model is four Standard-legal main booster sets per calendar year after Origins. In 2026, those sets are Spiritforged, Unleashed, Vendetta, and Radiance. Riot has announced the same four-set structure for 2027 with Legacy, The Reckoning, Set 8, and Set 9.

That creates a roughly quarterly release cadence, although exact dates can vary.

When does Riftbound Standard rotation begin?

Riot plans the first Riftbound Standard rotation for the start of 2028 when Set 10 releases. At that point, Sets 1-5 rotate out of Standard: Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, Vendetta, and Radiance.

Sets 6-9 are then scheduled to rotate at the beginning of 2029 when Set 14 arrives. Riot also plans to support an additional format where cards that have rotated out of Standard can continue to be played.

How new releases connect to Organized Play

New sets also anchor Riftbound's competitive calendar. In 2027, Riot is adding Nexus Cups, replacing Summoner Skirmish with the Riftbound Challenge Series, renaming Regional Qualifiers to Riftbound Regionals, and evolving Regional Championships into Riftbound Continentals.

Riot plans a Continental around each main set, making preview season, Pre-Rift, release timing, rules updates, and early metagame development especially relevant for competitive players.

How to track official Riftbound release dates

The safest first-party source for a Riftbound TCG release date is PlayRiftbound.com. Riot publishes set announcements, preview schedules, localization news, product information, rules changes, and Organized Play updates there.

During an active preview season, use the official Riftbound card gallery for revealed cards and the Rules Hub for current rules, errata, format legality, and tournament documents.

• Check the exact set name rather than relying only on a month.
• Separate Pre-Rift dates from the full retail launch.
• Check which language and region a release date refers to.
• Prefer Riot's newest roadmap when an older announcement lists a different date.
• Use your local game store or PlayRiftbound event listing for exact Pre-Rift event times.
• Do not treat collector products, promos, preorder drawings, or restocks as new main-set release dates.

What to do before the next Riftbound release

How you prepare for Radiance depends on whether you mainly play, collect, compete, or simply want cards featuring your favorite League champions.

• New player: Start with Proving Grounds, a Champion Deck, or a Showdown Deck before buying large amounts of sealed product.
• Collector: Follow the official card gallery, Showcase treatments, HEARTSTEEL Overnumbers, and Ultimate Rare information before deciding what to open or keep sealed.
• Local store player: Check your store's Radiance Pre-Rift schedule rather than relying only on the worldwide October 23 release date.
• Competitive player: Follow preview season, the Radiance rules update, ban-list changes, and early tournament results before locking in a deck.
• League fan: Use the Legend roster and alternate-art themes to find the champions and Runeterra themes you care about most.
