LoL splash art guessing game: Rift Reveal

This LoL splash art guessing game lets you choose which clues to uncover. Start with one visible tile, look for a familiar detail and identify the champion in four guesses. Open more of the picture when you need help, but every extra tile costs points.

A weapon, a silhouette or a flash of armour could be enough. Where will you look next?

How to play, scoring & saved progress

Open tiles to uncover the champion. Every extra tile costs 10 points, and every wrong guess costs 15. You have four guesses.

Rift Reveal: start at 100, minus 10 per additional tile and 15 per wrong guess, minimum 10 for a solved puzzle. Forge and Kit Shuffle: 100 / 70 / 40 by attempt. Unsolved or given-up puzzles score zero. Guess the Chest: 100 / 80 / 60 / 40 / 20, counted separately.

Complete the three main games to finish your day. No time pressure. Results and streaks are saved in this browser; clearing browser data removes them. Practice and past dates do not change today's score.

Everyone gets the same daily puzzles. They reset at 00:00 UTC. An open puzzle can still be finished after midnight as an archive puzzle.

How the LoL splash art guessing game works

Rift Reveal hides a champion’s splash art behind a three-by-three grid. One tile is open at the start. You can guess immediately or reveal more tiles before committing to a champion.

The challenge is deciding how much information you need. A useful tile might make the answer obvious. A section of empty background might leave you no closer to solving the puzzle.

How to play Rift Reveal

  1. Study the starting tile. Look for a recognisable shape, weapon or costume detail.
  2. Choose whether to guess or reveal more. Select a covered tile if you need another clue.
  3. Submit a champion name. Enter the name and select the matching suggestion.
  4. Use your remaining clues carefully. Identify the champion within four guesses.

You are guessing the champion, not the skin name. Revealing a tile does not use a guess, but it reduces the score available if you solve the puzzle.

How Rift Reveal scoring works

Action or result Effect on your score
Solve using only the starting tile, with no wrong guesses 100 points
Reveal an additional tile Subtract 10 points
Submit a wrong champion guess Subtract 15 points
Solve after using several clues or guesses At least 10 points
Run out of guesses or give up 0 points

For example, revealing two extra tiles and making one wrong guess before solving earns 65 points: 100 minus 20 for the tiles and 15 for the incorrect answer.

Choose your next tile carefully

Follow a promising detail. If the starting tile shows part of a weapon, opening a neighbouring tile may reveal its shape. Building on an existing clue can be more useful than choosing an unrelated part of the picture.

Look beyond colour. Similar colours appear across many champions. Compare the outline of armour, the shape of a weapon or the direction of the pose before settling on a name.

Consider the cost of guessing. A new tile costs 10 points. A wrong answer costs 15 points and one of your four guesses. If you are choosing between several champions, another carefully selected tile may be the better option.

Take your time. There is no speed bonus. You earn points by solving the puzzle efficiently, not by submitting an answer quickly.

Get more familiar with champion designs

Explore RiftDaily’s League of Legends skins coverage for more artwork and character designs. Our LoL model viewer guide explains how to inspect champion and skin models from different angles. The puzzle uses splash art rather than a 3D model, but recognising costume and weapon shapes can still help.

You can also browse Riot’s official champion directory to explore individual champions.

Rift Reveal is one of the three main games in RiftDaily Arcade. Its result contributes up to 100 points to your daily total.

Frequently asked questions about the LoL splash art guessing game

How many guesses do I get?

You have four champion guesses. Opening an additional tile does not use a guess.

Do I need to identify the champion or the skin?

Identify the champion. You do not need to know or type the skin name.

Does the picture automatically reveal more after a wrong answer?

No. You choose which additional tiles to open. A wrong answer uses a guess and reduces your potential score, but it does not automatically uncover another tile.

Can I reveal the entire picture?

Yes. Opening the eight additional tiles reveals all nine sections and costs 80 points. A correct answer then earns 20 points before any wrong-guess penalties, with a minimum of 10 points for solving the puzzle.

What happens if I lose or give up?

The round ends, the answer is revealed and you receive zero points. The finished round still counts towards completing your three-game daily challenge.

When does the puzzle reset?

A new daily puzzle becomes available at 00:00 UTC. Everyone receives the same scheduled Rift Reveal puzzle for that date. The countdown in the game shows how long remains.

Can I resume a round or play more puzzles?

Return in the same browser to resume a saved session while it remains available. Clearing browser storage can remove that progress. After your daily round, Practice can offer past challenges when they are available. Practice results do not replace your daily score.

What if the picture does not load or a clue seems wrong?

Check your connection and try the game’s retry option before clearing browser data. If you can load the puzzle but believe the image or answer is incorrect, use “Report a puzzle issue” beneath the game.

Turn a small clue into a strong daily score

Choose a tile, trust the details and see how little of the picture you need. After your round, return to RiftDaily Arcade to complete the remaining daily challenges.
