TFT Tactician’s Superbrawl brings official 4v4 competition to November

by RiftDaily Admin | Aug 20, 2026 | TFT, Featured, News

TFT Tactician’s Superbrawl will bring 4v4 competition into the official Teamfight Tactics esports circuit from November 6 to 8, 2026, with 96 teams competing in each of AMER, EMEA, and APAC.

The team tournament creates a new late-season competitive target tied directly to Set 19 Tactician’s Trials. Players can qualify through a November ladder snapshot or designated sub-regional events, then compete in four-player teams before eligible players from the best-performing rosters advance individually into Tactician’s Trials.

TFT Tactician’s Superbrawl dates, format and qualification

Riot’s official Tactician’s Superbrawl announcement confirms that each region will field 96 teams in a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket. Each roster contains four players.

The ladder snapshot determines the captain slots. Players who finish high enough on their server receive captain status, then select three teammates from a substantially larger eligible ladder pool. The alternative route comes through regional or country-level 4v4 qualifiers.

Set 18 TPC players can be selected by captains, but only two are permitted on any one roster. Those TPC players cannot qualify for Set 19 Tactician’s Trials through Superbrawl.

How AMER qualification works

AMER will send 93 teams through ladder captain slots, with another three teams coming from regional grassroots events. Captains can draft teammates from the top 1,000 players included in the ladder snapshot.

EMEA combines ladder spots with six country tournaments

EMEA will qualify 90 captains through the ladder and fill its remaining six team slots through country tournaments. As in AMER, captains will select their teammates from an eligible pool consisting of the top 1,000 players in the snapshot.

APAC uses a top-2,000 ladder pool

APAC has the deepest teammate draft pool of the three regions. Its 92 ladder captains will be able to select teammates from a 2,000-player eligible pool, while four additional teams advance through grassroots competition.

Why Riot is adding an official TFT 4v4 tournament

Tactician’s Superbrawl is intended to extend the meaningful competitive portion of the TFT season by roughly three weeks. Riot said competitors had raised concerns that the Tactician’s Trials season effectively finished too early, leaving late-season ladder play with less at stake.

The November event gives players who continue climbing in August, September and October a concrete qualification target. It also formalizes a 4v4 format that has already existed within the community. EMEA players may recognize the Superbrawl name from Rising Legends, where it previously appeared as a community event rather than part of the official esports circuit.

The team element also changes the competitive dynamic. Instead of qualifying for a standard solo event and playing entirely for individual placement, captains must build four-player rosters, manage the restriction on TPC players and represent their region as a unit. The development adds another competitive route around Teamfight Tactics, alongside the wider tournament and ladder ecosystem.

Set 19 Tactician’s Trials spots and prize money

Superbrawl can directly carry successful competitors into the next set. Every non-TPC player on the top two teams in each region will receive a place in Day 3 of Set 19 Tactician’s Trials #2.

The qualification is individual once players reach Trials. Tactician’s Trials remains a solo competition, meaning the four-person team format ends with Superbrawl rather than carrying into the next tournament.

Prize money is also planned, but Riot has not yet announced the full payout structure or amounts. Those details are due closer to the event.

What Riot still needs to reveal before November

Several operational details remain outstanding. Riot plans to release more information about the bracket structure, prize distribution, the exact process captains will use to draft teammates, and the grassroots and country tournament qualification routes closer to Superbrawl.

Regional dates and competition procedures can differ, making local channels important for players pursuing the non-ladder routes. Future changes can also be followed through TFT updates and the broader gaming news feed.

Riot has not yet confirmed a specific Superbrawl broadcast schedule. Official TFT video programming and future esports content can be monitored through the Teamfight Tactics YouTube channel.
