The Worlds 2026 field is almost set, with 19 teams from six regions heading to the United States to fight for the Summoner's Cup. T1, Gen.G, G2 Esports, Bilibili Gaming and Anyone's Legend headline a stacked lineup, while several other teams will be looking to make their first big mark on the international stage.
Worlds is getting a bigger field this year, expanding from 17 teams to 19. The change comes after the LTA split, with the LCS and CBLOL once again competing as separate regions. That means more teams, more regional representation and a few new storylines heading into the 2026 World Championship.
All Worlds teams 2026
The 2026 Worlds field is made up of four LCK teams, four LPL teams, three LEC teams, three LCS teams, three LCP teams and two CBLOL teams. The full 19-team Worlds 2026 field is now set, with six regional leagues represented at the tournament.
| Region | Worlds teams | Places |
|---|---|---|
| LCK | Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, Dplus KIA | 4 |
| LPL | Anyone's Legend, Bilibili Gaming, Top Esports, Invictus Gaming | 4 |
| LEC | G2 Esports, Movistar KOI, Karmine Corp | 3 |
| LCS | Cloud9, Team Liquid, LYON | 3 |
| LCP | Team Secret Whales, CTBC Flying Oyster, MVK Esports | 3 |
| CBLOL | LØS, FURIA | 2 |
LCK sends four Worlds teams

Four LCK teams will be heading to Worlds 2026: Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1 and Dplus KIA.
Gen.G enters as Korea's top seed, while T1 returns to the World Championship as the reigning champion. Hanwha Life Esports and Dplus KIA complete the LCK lineup, giving Korea four teams with plenty of experience when it comes to playing on the international stage.
For T1 in particular, Worlds 2026 is another chance to extend an extraordinary run on the international stage. The defending champions will have to navigate a larger field and a different competitive environment if they are to lift the trophy again.
LPL Worlds teams include Anyone's Legend and BLG
China also has four representatives at Worlds 2026: Anyone's Legend, Bilibili Gaming, Top Esports and Invictus Gaming.
Anyone's Legend takes the top LPL seed after winning the summer competition. Bilibili Gaming follows as the second seed, with Top Esports and Invictus Gaming completing the Chinese contingent.
That gives the LPL a particularly interesting mix of established names and a team in Anyone's Legend that will arrive at Worlds with the pressure that comes with being the region's top seed.
G2 leads the LEC Worlds lineup
Europe's three Worlds teams are G2 Esports, Movistar KOI and Karmine Corp.
G2 heads into the tournament as the LEC's first seed after winning the summer playoffs. Movistar KOI takes the second spot, while Karmine Corp completes Europe's lineup.
Karmine Corp's qualification is also notable for the LEC's international representation. The French organization will be making its Worlds appearance in a field that includes some of the biggest names in the global scene.
LCS returns with Cloud9, Team Liquid and LYON
The LCS is back as its own region at Worlds, and Cloud9, Team Liquid and LYON will carry North America's banner.
The return of the LCS as a standalone region is one of the bigger structural changes surrounding Worlds 2026. Instead of competing as part of the former LTA setup, North American teams now have their own qualification route and three places at the World Championship.
LCP brings three teams to Worlds
The Asia-Pacific region will be represented by Team Secret Whales, CTBC Flying Oyster and MVK Esports.
Team Secret Whales enters as the LCP's first seed, with CTBC Flying Oyster in second and MVK Esports taking the third position. All three will have to navigate a field packed with teams from Korea and China, but the expanded format gives the region another opportunity to make an impact.
CBLOL completes the 19-team field
CBLOL has two places at Worlds 2026, marking another major change after the Americas league structure was reorganized. LØS and FURIA make up Brazil's representation at the tournament.
The two CBLOL representatives round out a 19-team Worlds field featuring teams from six different leagues. It gives this year's tournament a little more variety and adds another region to the international mix.
Teams in the Worlds 2026 Play-In
Four teams will have to fight through the Play-In for just one spot in the Worlds 2026 Swiss stage. Karmine Corp and MVK Esports are already confirmed, while the remaining two places will go to the third seed from the LCS and the second seed from CBLOL.
| Region | Team | Status |
|---|---|---|
| LEC | Karmine Corp | Confirmed |
| LCP | MVK Esports | Confirmed |
| LCS | 3rd seed | To be determined |
| CBLOL | 2nd seed | To be determined |
How the Worlds 2026 format works
The road to the title starts with the Play-In stage. Four teams will enter the bracket, but only one will earn a spot in the main event. The format is double elimination and every series is a best-of-five, giving teams a chance to recover from one bad result.
The Play-In runs from October 15 to October 18 in Los Angeles. Once it's finished, the tournament heads to Allen, Texas, for the Swiss stage. Sixteen teams will compete there, playing up to five rounds. Three wins sends a team through, while three losses ends its Worlds run.
The Swiss format is straightforward once the basic rule is understood: three wins means advancing, while three losses means elimination. Teams with the same records are matched together as the stage progresses.
The first matches are best-of-one. Matches that decide whether a team advances or is eliminated are best-of-three, adding another layer of pressure to the final stages of each team's Swiss run.
The first matches are best-of-one, while the games that decide whether a team advances or goes home are best-of-three. Once the Swiss stage is over, the top eight teams move into the knockout stage.

Why Worlds 2026 could be difficult to predict
The expanded field is only part of what makes this Worlds interesting. Teams also arrive after a long domestic season and must adapt to the tournament's patch environment and Fearless Draft rules.
That combination can quickly punish teams that rely too heavily on a small number of priority champions. A team that looks dominant during its regional playoffs may need to reinvent parts of its draft once the international meta develops.
It also creates opportunities for teams outside the traditional favorites. With more teams entering the event and only eight ultimately reaching the knockout stage, every early Swiss result matters.
