Worlds 2026 Pick’Ems: Best Knockout Stage Bracket Predictions and Upset Picks

by Majbritt Dybdal Bjerre | | Guides, Esports, Featured, News, Worlds

Worlds 2026 has reached the Knockout Stage, and the remaining eight teams are now fighting for the Summoner's Cup. With the Swiss Stage complete, the focus shifts to predicting the quarterfinals, semifinals and grand final in the official Worlds Pick'Ems.

Dplus KIA (DK), Gen.G and T1 deserve particular attention. The three LCK representatives have all demonstrated why the Korean region remains one of the strongest forces in competitive League of Legends. DK has looked exceptional throughout the tournament, Gen.G continues to be one of the most consistent teams in the world, while T1's ability to perform under pressure at Worlds makes them extremely dangerous.

Our recommended bracket takes a mostly safe approach, backing the strongest teams while leaving room for a calculated upset. We are ultimately predicting Gen.G to lift the Summoner's Cup, but there is a very good argument for either DK or T1 winning it all. Here is how we would fill out the Worlds 2026 Knockout Stage Pick'Ems.

Worlds 2026 Knockout Stage teams and bracket predictions

The eight teams advancing from Swiss are Dplus KIA, Gen.G, T1, TOP Esports, Invictus Gaming, Bilibili Gaming, Karmine Corp and LYON. Their qualification results provide some useful clues about which teams deserve the most confidence.

For T1 believers: Why T1 is also a good choice to win Worlds 2026

If you are a T1 believer, there is a very reasonable alternative to our main bracket. Instead of predicting Dplus KIA to defeat T1 in the semifinals, you could back T1 to make it all the way to the grand final and eventually defeat Gen.G.

There is a reason T1 is always one of the most dangerous teams at Worlds. The organisation has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to perform on the biggest international stage, and its players are familiar with the pressure that comes with competing for the Summoner's Cup.

T1’s biggest strength is how well the team handles pressure. Even in the toughest moments, the players tend to keep their heads, trust their experience and look for a way back into the game.

This becomes especially important in a grand final. Being the better team on paper does not automatically mean winning a best-of-five on the biggest stage. Preparation, composure and the ability to handle pressure can make all the difference. T1 has plenty of experience in exactly these situations.

Our alternative T1 bracket would therefore look like this:

QuarterfinalT1 vs Karmine CorpT1
SemifinalTOP Esports vs Gen.GGen.G
SemifinalDplus KIA vs T1T1
Grand finalGen.G vs T1T1

We would expect an extremely close grand final between Gen.G and T1. Gen.G might have the edge in consistency and overall form, but T1's experience and ability to keep its composure under pressure could be the deciding factor.

If you believe T1 can reach the final, picking them to win the entire tournament is not an unreasonable gamble. In fact, it might be one of the most interesting alternative predictions you can make in your Pick'Ems.

The LCK looks dominant at Worlds 2026

One of the biggest takeaways from this year's Worlds is the strength of the LCK. All three Korean representatives, Dplus KIA, Gen.G and T1, have shown the quality required to compete for the championship.

DK has arguably been the most impressive team in the tournament so far, going through Swiss undefeated. Gen.G has also looked incredibly strong, combining consistency with the experience required to win international best-of-five series. Meanwhile, T1 remains a team that nobody should want to face in an elimination match.

What makes the LCK particularly dangerous is that these three teams offer slightly different strengths. DK has the momentum and confidence of an outstanding tournament run. Gen.G brings consistency, strong fundamentals and the ability to control games. T1 has the international experience and mental resilience that have made it such a successful Worlds team.

For Pick'Ems players looking for the safer predictions, it is difficult to argue against backing two LCK teams to reach the grand final. There is no guarantee that it will happen, especially with strong LPL opposition still in the bracket, but the Korean teams have given plenty of reasons to trust them.

We would therefore recommend keeping your predictions heavily focused on the LCK. Even if you disagree about which Korean team should win the championship, having two of them in the final is a sensible approach.

How each Worlds 2026 Knockout team is performing

Dplus KIA (DK): The team to beat

Dplus KIA is arguably the biggest winner of the Swiss Stage. The LCK representative finished 3-0, winning all four games it played and becoming the only team to advance without dropping a game.

Its victories over G2 Esports, T1 and Movistar KOI demonstrated that this is not simply a team benefiting from favourable matchups. DK also showed it could control games against strong international opposition. Its performance at the Esports World Cup earlier in the season is another reason to take the team seriously.

The quarterfinal against BLG will be a considerably tougher examination. Nevertheless, DK has earned favourite status. Its coordination, confidence and flawless Swiss record make it a strong candidate to reach the grand final.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal winner, semifinal winner and grand final runner-up.

Gen.G: Our pick to win Worlds 2026

Gen.G is one of the strongest championship contenders and our choice to win the entire tournament. The Korean team came through Swiss with an unbeaten 3-0 record, dropping only one game across its four Swiss games.

Gen.G's structured approach makes it particularly dangerous in best-of-five matches. The team has the experience and individual quality to punish mistakes, while its ability to adjust between games gives it an advantage in longer series.

LYON is the quarterfinal opponent, and the two teams have already met in Swiss. Gen.G won that best-of-three 2-1, although LYON managed to take a game. A best-of-five gives the North American side more opportunities to challenge Gen.G, but the Korean team remains the clear favourite.

The potential semifinal against TES is another matchup where Gen.G should have the advantage. If the team maintains its current level, reaching the grand final is a realistic expectation.

We are ultimately backing Gen.G to win the championship. The team has the consistency, experience and quality to finish the job, even if DK and T1 could make the final extremely difficult.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal winner, semifinal winner and Worlds 2026 champion.

T1: Never underestimate the Worlds specialists

It is never easy to leave T1 out of a Worlds prediction. The team has so much international experience and knows how to handle the pressure of big matches. When elimination is on the line, T1 has a habit of stepping up, which makes it hard to rule them out as potential champions.

The team finished Swiss with a 3-1 record. Its only defeat came against Dplus KIA, while wins over LOS, CTBC Flying Oyster and Movistar KOI secured qualification. That loss to DK is worth remembering, particularly because the two teams could meet again in the semifinals.

Karmine Corp is T1's quarterfinal opponent. KC has already shown that it can compete with strong international teams, but T1 has a substantial advantage in experience at this stage of the tournament.

We expect T1 to advance from the quarterfinals, but the potential semifinal against DK is a different challenge. Our main prediction has DK progressing, although T1 is absolutely capable of turning the result around.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal winner, semifinal elimination. Alternative: Grand final winner.

TOP Esports (TES): A dangerous Chinese contender

TOP Esports qualified with a 3-1 Swiss record after recovering from an opening defeat against Hanwha Life Esports. Wins against Anyone's Legend, G2 and Bilibili Gaming demonstrated that TES has the ability to beat strong opposition.

The victory against BLG is particularly relevant heading into the Knockout Stage. It gives TES a recent result against one of the remaining teams and shows that its ceiling is high enough to threaten the tournament favourites.

Its quarterfinal against Invictus Gaming is difficult to call. Both teams have demonstrated considerable potential, and an all-LPL series can be especially unpredictable because of the familiarity between the teams.

We give TES a narrow advantage and expect it to reach the semifinals. Gen.G would probably be a step too far, however, making the Chinese side a reasonable semifinal exit prediction.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal winner, semifinal elimination.

Invictus Gaming (IG): An unpredictable threat

Invictus Gaming also finished Swiss with a 3-1 record. After losing its opening match against Gen.G, IG responded with victories over Team Secret Whales, Hanwha Life Esports and LYON.

Those results show that IG can recover from setbacks and compete against established international opposition. Its win over HLE was particularly useful evidence of its potential, while the victory against LYON helped secure its place in the final eight.

The matchup against TES is one of the closest quarterfinals on paper. IG has enough quality to win, and anyone looking for a more adventurous bracket could reasonably select it over TES.

Our safer choice is TES, but IG is a team we would not be surprised to see in the semifinals.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal elimination, with IG as a potential upset winner.

Bilibili Gaming (BLG): Too much quality to dismiss

BLG had a more complicated route through Swiss than DK or Gen.G. The Chinese side finished 3-2, recovering from an opening defeat against Movistar KOI and another loss against TES before securing its place in the Knockout Stage.

Its final qualification match was an important statement. BLG defeated Hanwha Life Esports 2-0, showing that it could still deliver a convincing performance against elite opposition when elimination was on the line.

There is no question that BLG has the individual talent to challenge DK. The problem is that DK has looked considerably more consistent throughout this tournament. BLG will need a major improvement to overcome the Korean side in a best-of-five.

If you want to take a risk, BLG is one of the more interesting upset selections. We would nevertheless keep DK as the quarterfinal winner in a safer bracket.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal elimination, with BLG as a possible dark horse.

Karmine Corp (KC): Europe's last hope

Karmine Corp has had a challenging route to the Knockout Stage, but reaching the final eight is an achievement worth recognising. The European team finished Swiss 3-2 and showed resilience after a difficult start.

Its wins against Anyone's Legend, CTBC Flying Oyster and Movistar KOI were enough to secure qualification. The 2-0 victory against MKOI in the decisive round was particularly important, allowing KC to finish its Swiss campaign with momentum.

The challenge now is considerably bigger. T1 has far more experience in high-pressure international best-of-five matches, and KC will need an exceptional performance to progress.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal elimination.

LYON: North America's final representative

LYON completed the eight-team field with a 3-2 Swiss record. The North American representative had to fight for qualification, but its ability to win important matches kept its Worlds campaign alive.

Its Swiss run included victories against Team Secret Whales, Karmine Corp and LOS. It also pushed Gen.G to a deciding third game, which is an encouraging sign ahead of the quarterfinals.

However, facing Gen.G again in a best-of-five is a different challenge. LYON has already shown that it can take games from the Korean favourite, but maintaining that level across a longer series will be difficult.

Pick'Ems prediction: Quarterfinal elimination.

Our recommended Worlds 2026 Knockout bracket explained

Quarterfinals: Four teams we expect to advance

TOP Esports over Invictus Gaming: This is probably the hardest quarterfinal to predict. Both teams have shown they can compete with the best, but TES gets our vote because of its victory over BLG and its ability to recover after losing its opening Swiss match.

Gen.G over LYON: Gen.G should have too much consistency and experience for LYON. The North American team can make this competitive, but Gen.G remains one of the strongest championship contenders.

Dplus KIA over BLG: DK is our most confident quarterfinal pick. BLG has the talent to cause problems, but DK's undefeated Swiss campaign makes it difficult to bet against them.

T1 over Karmine Corp: KC has enjoyed a respectable tournament, but T1 is the safer selection. The Korean team has the experience and individual quality to handle the pressure of an elimination series.

Semifinals: Gen.G and DK reach the final

We predict Gen.G to defeat TES in the first semifinal. TES has enough firepower to make the series competitive, but Gen.G's consistency gives it the advantage in a best-of-five.

The other semifinal could be the highlight of the tournament. DK against T1 would bring together two of Korea's strongest teams, and it is exactly the kind of matchup that makes Worlds special.

T1 should never be underestimated, especially at Worlds. However, DK already defeated T1 during Swiss, and its overall tournament form makes it our preferred choice. We are backing DK to win again and secure a place in the grand final.

Grand final: Gen.G takes the trophy

Our predicted final is Gen.G against Dplus KIA. It would be a fitting matchup between two of the strongest teams at Worlds, both representing the LCK.

DK might have looked like the strongest team during Swiss, but Gen.G is our choice to win the final. Its consistency, experience and ability to perform in best-of-five series make it a particularly convincing championship candidate.

It would be a close series, and we would not be surprised if it goes all five games. DK has the momentum, but Gen.G has the quality to overcome it when the championship is on the line.

Ultimately, we are backing Gen.G to lift the Summoner's Cup and finish Worlds 2026 as champions.

Want to spice up your Worlds Pick'Ems? Consider these dark horses

Dark horse 1: Bilibili Gaming eliminates Dplus KIA

This is probably the biggest upset we would consider. BLG has already shown that it can recover from difficult situations, and its 2-0 victory against HLE in the final Swiss round demonstrates that it should not be dismissed.

DK is still our favourite, but BLG has enough individual quality to turn this quarterfinal into a surprise. If you want one major gamble, this is an interesting place to take it.

Dark horse 2: Invictus Gaming defeats TOP Esports

IG is another team that could outperform expectations. Its victories against HLE and LYON show that it can deliver against international competition, and the all-Chinese matchup against TES could go either way.

For a slightly more adventurous bracket, selecting IG to advance is a reasonable alternative. We would not be surprised if this series goes all five games.

Dark horse 3: T1 defeats Dplus KIA

Although our main bracket predicts DK to advance, T1 is perhaps the most interesting alternative. The team's international experience and ability to perform under pressure make it a dangerous opponent, even against a team that has looked better throughout the tournament.

If you believe T1 can find another level in the Knockout Stage, selecting them to reach the final and defeat Gen.G could be an exciting alternative to our main prediction.

We recommend DK based on its undefeated Swiss campaign and victory over T1. However, T1's international experience and mental resilience make it a very credible alternative.

Can Bilibili Gaming beat Dplus KIA?

Yes. BLG has enough individual talent and international experience to cause an upset. Its 3-2 Swiss record is less convincing than DK's, but its 2-0 victory against HLE shows that it remains dangerous.

Invictus Gaming is an interesting dark horse because of its ability to beat strong opponents. BLG is another option if you want to predict a major upset against DK.

Should I predict an all-LCK grand final?

Yes, it is a reasonable approach. Gen.G, DK and T1 have all demonstrated championship-level quality, making two LCK finalists a sensible prediction for players who prefer a safer bracket.

Can T1 win Worlds 2026?

Absolutely. T1 has the experience and composure to win high-pressure international series. If it defeats DK in the semifinals, we would not rule out T1 beating Gen.G in the grand final either.

Our final Worlds 2026 Pick'Ems verdict

Our recommendation is to keep your Worlds 2026 Knockout Stage bracket relatively safe. Pick DK, Gen.G and T1 to advance from their respective quarterfinals, while giving TOP Esports the narrow advantage over Invictus Gaming.

For the semifinals, we are backing Gen.G and DK to meet in the grand final, with Gen.G ultimately lifting the Summoner's Cup. The Korean side has the consistency and quality to finish the job, although DK and T1 are both serious threats.

If you want to make your bracket more adventurous, consider BLG over DK or IG over TES as your main upset prediction. Alternatively, T1 reaching the final and defeating Gen.G is an entirely reasonable alternative for those who trust T1's ability to perform under pressure.
