Riot Games has now announced the everything you need to know for Worlds 2026. Riot revealed the schedule, locations and a few format updates, as the tournament will be hosted in multiple cities in North America this year.

Worlds 2026 format changes explained
The world champion ship will follow a similar format as those previous years ; However, there were minor adjustments to the format including team allocations and play-in stage adjustments.

- 2 from the CBLOL - up from 1 previously

There haven't been major changes to the overall structure. The Play-in Stage remains a compact Four-team, double-elimination format, with only one team advancing to the Swiss Stage.

The format of Worlds 2026 does not have dramatic formatting changes from previous editions, but continue to improve Competitive Balance through Regional Representation and Qualification Pathways.
