The patch drops on June 9, with downtime starting at 9 a.m. PT. Online matchmaking returns once maintenance is complete, while Offline mode remains available during downtime. On console, players must disconnect from the internet before launching 2XKO to access Offline mode.

New content in 2XKO patch 1.2.3
New champion: Senna, The Redeemer
Senna joins 2XKO as a champion of light cursed by darkness. She uses her relic cannon to blast opponents from range, then rushes them down as a shadowy wraith. Her two-form design should make her one of the most interesting characters to test early, especially for players who like switching between control and aggression.
Senna’s spotlight gives a close look at how her light and wraith forms flow together in real matches.
You can also watch Senna’s move list video and gameplay trailer to study her tools before unlocking her.
New champion: Thresh, The Chain Warden
Thresh arrives as a malevolent specter who attacks from tricky angles with his chain, uses his lantern for movement and utility, and summons jailed souls to assist his offense. His toolkit sounds built for players who enjoy traps, positioning, and unsettling the opponent before the real hit lands.
Thresh’s spotlight shows how his chain, lantern, and soul mechanics come together in 2XKO.
You can also watch Thresh’s move list video and gameplay trailer to see more of his playstyle.
How to unlock Senna and Thresh
Senna and Thresh can be purchased immediately with 1,000 KO Points or one Champion Token each. They can also be unlocked for free through their shared Champion Recruitment Event, which lasts four weeks. After that event ends, both champions become purchasable for 10,000 Credits.
Because two champions are being recruited at the same time, this event takes about 50% longer than a normal Recruitment Event. Players who want to try before they unlock still can, because all champions are available in Training and Offline mode even if they have not been purchased. For help with account or game issues, Riot’s 2XKO support page is the best official resource.
PVE mode: The Climb
The Climb is a new PVE mode that can be played with a friend. You fight NPCs in random encounters, win rounds to unlock augments, and shape each run around increasingly powerful or strange build choices. The mode gives 2XKO players a fresh way to experiment outside standard PVP.
The Climb trailer shows the mode’s structure, including co-op runs, augments, and escalating encounters.
The Climb also has its own missions and rewards, including base chromas, avatar items, and stickers. The mode should be especially useful for players who want to learn characters, test team ideas, or play with a duo without jumping straight into competitive matches.
New events in 2XKO patch 1.2.3
Pool Party event
The Pool Party event starts in Casual Lobbies worldwide on June 29 and runs until July 20. It brings special event missions, rewards, and new summer skins in the store.
Chipotle event
Riot is partnering with Chipotle again for a two-part event. Part one runs from June 16 through June 28, and part two runs from July 1 through August 6. Each part has unique missions and rewards, and Casual Lobbies will be decorated with a Chipotle theme during both periods.
United States residents can earn a chance at real-life Chipotle coupons by completing in-game missions. Riot says more details will arrive in a separate article when part one goes live.
New stages in 2XKO patch 1.2.3
Three new stages are added in the latest update: Kiramman Yacht, Kiramman Yacht (After Dark), and Abandoned Armory.

Core gameplay changes in 2XKO patch 1.2.3
The main core gameplay goal is to remove some sharp edges from Teamfight. Riot also notes that Freestyle is extremely strong, but the targeted Freestyle adjustments are planned for the next patch.
Teamfight adjustments
Teamfight can still create explosive offense, but its previous counterplay was too risky and not rewarding enough. High-level teams could use the second body to parry or block Break activation in ways that did not match the Fuse’s intended identity. Patch 1.2.3 changes how Teamfight uses meter and gives defenders better answers.
Offensive adjustments
- Teamfight can now spend up to 6 bars of meter, with up to 3 bars per champion.
- Teamfight duration now depends on the meter spent to activate it.
- 2 bars gives 5 seconds.
- 4 bars gives 10 seconds.
- 6 bars gives 15 seconds.
- Meter cost is still paid by both the assist champion and point champion.
- If one champion has 3 bars and the other has 1, Teamfight only uses 2 bars total, 1 from each champion.
- Teamfight always activates at the highest level possible. If you have enough meter, there is no way to choose a lower activation level.
- Teamfight recovery has increased to 12 frames, up from 5 frames.
- The extra recovery keeps combos intact but makes defensive Teamfight into parry much less reliable.
Defensive options
- Teamfighting champions can no longer block or parry an opponent’s Break activation.
- This applies to both the point champion and assist champion while Teamfight is active.
- Successfully parrying a Teamfighting champion now immediately ends Teamfight.
- Hitting a Teamfighting champion now applies 2.5x more Teamfight duration reduction.
The practical result is a healthier risk-reward spread. Teamfight still has huge offensive upside, but defenders now get clearer ways to end it or shorten it when they make the correct call.
Other core gameplay adjustments
Jump input priority
- Jump input priority has changed. If a diagonal is pressed before a jump, that direction is prioritized over up.
- Akali’s double-jump is different and is not affected by this change. Riot is still investigating that specific behavior.
Break adjustments
- Break Bonus generation now resets if Fury expires while the player is being comboed.
- This prevents players from immediately regaining Fury when it expires during a long combo.
Infinite block stun protection
- Infinite block stun protection has been added while blocking mid-air.
- After 4 seconds of continuous aerial blocking, both attackers are automatically pushblocked every time another attack connects.
- This system specifically targets aerial block stun infinites.
- It does not trigger from long grounded blocking before jumping, and it does not trigger from standard aerial blockstrings.
Match intros
- If both players skip intros at the start of a match, rematches will automatically skip intros.
Core gameplay bug fixes
- Fixed a bug where Tag Launcher could sometimes be used twice in a sequence if the combo started with a Tag Launcher.
- Fixed a bug where Handshake Tag could be used on the same frame as a successful parry.
- Fixed an issue where hurtboxes were slightly distorted after performing Break mid-air.
Champion adjustments in 2XKO patch 1.2.3
The champion section has two major themes. First, Riot is lowering the damage of Supers that are easy to use multiple times in one combo without Double Down. Second, Ahri and Teemo get more meaningful game plan adjustments than most of the cast.
| Champion | Patch direction | Main takeaway |
|---|---|---|
| Ahri | Buffs, nerfs, adjustments, bug fix | Still expected to be strong, but her aerial pressure, safety, Super damage, and assist hurtbox are toned down |
| Akali | Nerfs and bug fixes | Core combo damage and Super Assist payoff are reduced slightly |
| Blitzcrank | Buffs | Throws and Garbage Collection connect better against pass-through movement |
| Braum | Small buff, nerf, bug fix | Back throw bug fix improves advantage, but Stand Behind Me Assist lasts less time |
| Caitlyn | Nerf | Enforcer Hexshield panel damage is reduced in corner Super loops |
| Darius | Adjustment and consistency fix | Bleed persists better against teamplay Fuses, and Thin Their Ranks becomes more consistent |
| Ekko | Nerf and bug fix | Mega Timewinder loses a little damage |
| Illaoi | Bug fixes | No major balance shift, but Super and tentacle bugs are cleaned up |
| Jinx | Buff and bug fixes | Pow Pow P-Pow becomes more consistent in aerial routing |
| Senna | New champion note | Senna brings a new play pattern and visual style |
| Teemo | Buffs, nerfs, bug fix | Teemo gets broader tuning to stop him from becoming too dominant after the meta shift |
| Thresh | New champion note | Thresh gets a launch note and several known issue callouts later in the patch |
| Vi | Bug fix | Vi remains mostly unchanged, with a Teamfight-related Super visual bug fixed |
| Warwick | Buffs | Throws generate more Bloodlust and air throw routes improve |
| Yasuo | Bug fixes | Small cleanup around Wind Wall and Teamfight screen presence |
Ahri

Ahri has been one of the strongest characters in the scene. Riot expects her to stay strong even with Senna and Thresh entering the roster, but patch 1.2.3 reduces the safety of her approach and lowers some of her Super damage.
Ahri buffs
- Charm now has the same number of invulnerability frames whether it is used mid-air or on the ground.
- Previously, mid-air Charm had much less invulnerability.
Ahri nerfs to specials
- If mid-air Foxfire Blast is not canceled into another attack, its recovery increases by 11 frames.
- The cancel timings are unchanged, so Ahri’s combos are not affected.
- Up-forward Spirit Rush damage is reduced from 85 to 80.
Ahri nerfs to normals
- Mid-air medium block stun is reduced by 1 frame, from 16 to 15.
- Mid-air heavy block stun is reduced by 2 frames, from 20 to 18.
- Mid-air down heavy block stun is reduced by 3 frames, from 20 to 17.
- These changes encourage Ahri players to use mid-air down light in blockstrings and force more deliberate aerial pressure routes.
- Mid-air down heavy no longer true blockstrings into another mid-air down heavy or mid-air heavy.
- Mid-air medium no longer true blockstrings into another mid-air medium.
- To keep true blockstrings, Ahri now needs routes such as mid-air medium into mid-air down light, or mid-air down heavy into mid-air medium.
- Down medium recovery is increased by 3 frames.
- Down-forward heavy recovery is increased by 2 frames.
- Standing medium recovery is increased by 1 frame.
- Down medium was too strong on block and in neutral, while standing medium had a milder version of the same issue.
- Down-forward heavy recovery was increased so it is no longer more advantageous than down medium on block.
Ahri nerfs to Supers
- Held Orb of Deception initial and secondary hit damage is reduced by 20, from 65 to 45.
- Minimum Super damage on the second hit of Orb of Deception is reduced from 66% to 45%.
- This should reduce Ahri’s combo damage by about 35 damage when Orb of Deception is used in a combo and about 40 damage when it is used as a starter.
- Held Orb of Deception block stun is reduced by 3 frames on both the first and second hits.
- The goal is to make Orb of Deception easier to interact with on block, especially in the corner.
Ahri assist nerf
- Foxfire Rain Assist has a larger hurtbox.
- Ahri should now be easier to hit while performing this assist.
Ahri adjustments and bug fix
- Mid-air Spirit Rush now passes through opponents later.
- This reintroduces a rare pushback bug at a specific cancel timing, but Riot says the change improves overall consistency.
- Fixed a bug where Orb of Deception could occasionally persist after Ahri was hit.
Akali

Akali has seen strong results, especially when paired with Ahri. Patch 1.2.3 keeps her slippery style intact while lowering a few damage points in core routes and reducing the power of her Super Assist.
Akali nerfs
- Crescent Moon Slash minimum combo damage is reduced from 40% to 35%.
- Crescent Moon Slash now increases damage scaling on the first hit.
- This prevents players from avoiding scaling by wall jump canceling between the first and second hit.
- Final Repose damage is reduced from 280 to 270.
- Final Repose now generates Break meter for the opponent. Riot considers this impactful enough to treat as a nerf even though it is also a bug fix.
- Sunset Descent initial hit damage is reduced from 30 to 20.
- Sunset Descent OTG now increments combo scaling twice.
- The Sunset Descent changes are meant to prevent unintended damage, especially after throws.
Akali bug fixes
- Fixed a visual issue where Akali’s “Complete 25 Combo Trials” mission was missing from the list.
- Fixed an issue where Akali could exit the Nightfall Ascension cinematic in different locations.
- Fixed an issue where Akali could occasionally lose collision in Akali mirror matches.
Blitzcrank

Blitzcrank is not common at the highest levels, but Riot still sees him as potent in capable hands. Patch 1.2.3 gives him small quality-of-life buffs.
- Throw now hits further inside Blitzcrank.
- Garbage Collection now hits further inside Blitzcrank.
- These changes help Blitzcrank catch pass-through moves, such as Ekko’s Phase Dive roll, because his throw hitbox now reaches further into his own space.
Braum

Braum gets two small adjustments that slightly reduce his overall power, especially when used with 2X Assist.
Braum buff
- Back throw frame advantage is increased by 5.
- Riot says this was done to fix a bug.
Braum nerf
- Stand Behind Me Assist is now 10 frames shorter.
- The assist was lasting a little too long, so its total duration has been reduced.
Braum bug fix
- Fixed a bug where KOing an opponent with back throw made them bounce back toward Braum.
Caitlyn

Caitlyn is hit by the patch’s wider goal of reducing Supers that are easy to loop multiple times in one combo. Riot says she should still be lethal in skilled hands.
- Enforcer Hexshield damage per panel hit is reduced from 90 to 80.
- This targets Caitlyn’s corner routes where the S2 Super can be used repeatedly.
- The change affects panel hits, not Caitlyn’s damage when shooting through Enforcer Hexshield.
Darius

Darius continues to do his job well, but patch 1.2.3 makes Bleed more strategically relevant and fixes a consistency issue.
- Bleed is no longer removed when opponents hit an assist champion.
- Bleed now only disappears if the point champion is hit.
- This makes Bleed more threatening when Darius is using teamplay-focused Fuses.
- Thin Their Ranks no longer drops when used against opponents extremely close to the ground.
Ekko

Ekko gets a minor nerf after also being touched in the previous patch. Riot does not expect this to change his overall strength very much.
- Mega Timewinder damage is reduced by 10.
- This is part of the broader reduction to Supers that are easy to use multiple times in a combo.
- Fixed an issue where Ekko’s Fury dash-cancel visual effects were green instead of red.
Illaoi

Illaoi remains strong, but Riot does not see a need for direct balance changes outside bug fixes.
- Fixed an issue where Illaoi was sometimes hittable while exiting the Crashing Waves animation.
- Fixed a bug where Illaoi’s tentacles could persist if she was hit during Wrath of Nagakabouros startup.
- Fixed an issue where Illaoi’s tentacles could try to grab an opponent during Wrath of Nagakabouros startup if an assist knocked down the opponent at the same time.
Jinx

Jinx shines in duo play, and patch 1.2.3 improves one awkward routing issue while cleaning up some strange interactions.
- Pow Pow P-Pow no longer adds 1 second to combo scaling.
- This lets Jinx use the same aerial combo whether S1 hits on the ground or in the air.
- Fixed unusual interactions between Yasuo’s Wind Wall and Jinx’s Fly Clappy, Fly! projectile.
- Fixed an issue where assists hit by Super Mega Death Rocket Monkey Cannon! floated slowly to the ground.
- The knockback was adjusted so opponents tech at the same height and time, preserving setups and post-Ultimate combos.
Senna

Senna brings a new play pattern and a lot of style. Her full launch impact will take time to understand, but her two-form identity should immediately give players plenty to explore.
Teemo

Teemo has been dangerous in the right hands, and Riot wants to prevent him from becoming the next dominant character as Ahri is nerfed and Senna and Thresh enter the roster. Patch 1.2.3 keeps Teemo strong under the right conditions but reduces several oppressive tools.
Teemo buffs
- Inputting down-back light, down-forward light, or down light after a normal light no longer performs a light follow-up.
- This makes standing down light into crouching down light much easier and prevents unwanted dart follow-ups.
- Bandle Dash now has slower knockdown speed when hitting opponents low to the ground.
- This helps Bandle Dash drop on the final hit less often.
- Mid-air down heavy hitbox is slightly expanded horizontally.
- The hitbox change improves existing combo stability but does not make mid-air heavy into mid-air down heavy work in every situation.
- Mid-air down heavy now knocks down opponents above Teemo faster.
- Mid-air down heavy no longer hits knocked-down opponents.
- This removes strange OTG hits that occurred at unexpected moments.
Teemo nerfs to specials
- S2 block stun is reduced by 8 frames, from 33 to 25.
- This reduces mushroom block stun, especially against advanced knockdown pressure.
- Blocking mid-air mushrooms in the corner should now be less oppressive.
- After knockdown, mid-air down medium into blocked mushroom into down light no longer works as a true blockstring.
- To keep a true blockstring, Teemo now needs a falling attack button or Noxious Surprise.
- Low into Guerilla Tactics no longer keeps advantage after throw in the same way.
Teemo nerfs to normals
- Mid-air light, standing light, and back assist hurtboxes are now larger.
- Mid-air light and standing light now always cause 16 frames of block stun.
- Mid-air light block stun is reduced by 2 frames.
- This reduces situations where mid-air light into mid-air medium is a true blockstring.
- Mid-air medium hitbox is reduced in size.
- The lower hitbox on mid-air medium is reduced, making it easier to anti-air.
Teemo damage nerfs
- Noxious Surprise damage is reduced by 30.
- Mid-air down medium first hit damage is reduced from 40 to 30.
- Charged down heavy damage is reduced from 100 to 90.
- Advanced Teemo combos should lose about 5 to 10 damage from some routes.
- Basic and intermediate Teemo combos should not lose damage from that specific change.
- Combos started with mid-air down medium or Noxious Surprise should lose about 15 to 30 damage.
- Poison damage is reduced from 30 to 25.
- Riot says badges should still feel exciting, but poison was dealing too much damage.
Teemo bug fix
- Fixed an issue where light did not push opponents back far enough after Teemo obtained the dart badge.
Thresh

Thresh’s champion note is short, but fitting: Riot calls him a shadow drop. His deeper launch details appear through his spotlight, move list, trailer, and known issue notes.
Vi

Vi still punches very hard, and patch 1.2.3 does not meaningfully change that.
- Fixed a bug where Vi’s gauntlet could appear haunted and move on its own if Hyper Crater Maker was activated while Teamfight was ending.
Warwick

Riot is happy with Warwick’s earlier buffs but wants to push him a bit further. Patch 1.2.3 increases Bloodlust generation from throws and improves his follow-ups from air throws.
- All throws now generate more Bloodlust gauge.
- Forward throw is tuned so an optimal combo should end with full Bloodlust.
- Mid-air back throw and mid-air forward throw combo scaling is reduced from 2.0 to 1.5.
- Air throws now let Warwick combo longer and open more routes.
- Mid-air forward throw no longer sends Warwick as far back.
- Warwick can now use forward throw to start the same combo in the air and on the ground.
- This improves midscreen combo consistency after air forward throw.
Yasuo

Yasuo’s side-switching mixup game is not directly changed, but he gets a couple of cleanup fixes.
- Fixed unusual interactions between Wind Wall and Jinx’s Fly Clappy, Fly! projectile.
- Fixed an issue where Yasuo could remain on screen if he was in Calm stance when Teamfight ended.
Bug fixes in 2XKO patch 1.2.3
- Fixed an issue where spectating sometimes displayed at a lower resolution than expected.
- Fixed an issue where players who put their PlayStation 5 into Rest Mode while in Training mode heard stage music playing in the main menu after exiting Rest Mode.
- Fixed an issue where 2XKOs were not appearing when they should.
- Fixed an issue where timing out during stage selection could occasionally freeze the game.
- Fixed an issue where the loading screen persisted and appeared in the background of a match.
- Fixed an issue where opponents landed face-up after a wall slump.
Miscellaneous notes
- A Shadow Isles-themed stage appears in Thresh’s champion spotlight and reveal trailer as a sneak peek. It will become available later.
- The Climb has a post-match progression screen visual bug that can show less progress than the player actually earned. Correct mission and level progress still appears on other menus.
Known issues in 2XKO patch 1.2.3
- Thresh has a known issue with forward dash and the frame meter. The frame meter can make it look more broken than it really is.
- Thresh can jump and block on frame 19 of his forward dash.
- Thresh can act on frame 23 of his forward dash.
- Trying to challenge the Intro Bots with the lowest framerate and lowest graphical settings causes the game to freeze. Playing at medium graphical settings avoids the issue.
- Thresh’s ghoul explosion can behave incorrectly when it collides with opposing traps or projectiles. If it explodes on top of an enemy champion and a projectile or trap at the same time, it may fail to hit the champion.
- Resetting in training mode while Senna performs Wraith Assist can cause a visual bug where Senna appears as a wraith while still being in base form.

Start here before your first serious set
2XKO patch 1.2.3 changes enough that jumping straight into ranked or serious sets is probably the worst way to learn it. Start in Training or Offline mode with Senna and Thresh so you can understand their ranges, form changes, summons, and basic team fit before facing them online. Even if you do not plan to main either champion, knowing what their core tools look like will save you from guessing in week one.
After that, spend time with the new Teamfight rules. The Fuse now asks for more meter management, better timing, and cleaner defensive awareness, so old habits from patch 1.2.1 may get punished. Ahri and Teemo players should also reread their champion sections carefully, because both characters received enough changes to affect pressure routes, damage expectations, and familiar blockstring patterns.
Once the gameplay side feels comfortable, run The Climb to explore the new PVE rewards, check the Pool Party and Chipotle event dates, claim the Abandoned Armory Twitch Drop while it is available, and review the limited-time bundles before they rotate.
For official follow-up reading, check Riot’s full 2XKO patch 1.2.3 notes, the dedicated The Climb PVE mode breakdown, and the 2XKO support page if you run into account, installation, or gameplay issues.
